Wanderlust: Yeosu Visit March 2009

I was so eager to visit Yeosu when I got back to Korea that I decided to plan a trip back on my third weekend in Korea. I hopped on a bus Friday directly after school. I slept most of the way there & awoke about 30 minutes before arriving. I got to enjoy the peaceful drive into Yeosu that was so familiar to me, like going home.

I met my dear friend Laura-Line & her new husband, Shi Young and we headed to the local bar called Elle Lui to meet up with other friends. I got to see a lot of people, but wished the night had lasted longer as I only got to chat a little bit with everyone. I went home with my friend Jessica (she is one of my closest Korean friends) & stayed at her house for the weekend.

On Saturday, I woke up to her oldest daughter, Gabin, peeking her head in the bedroom door & giving me a huge hug. It was such a sweet moment! Then Jessica made breakfast & took me to the hair shop I used to get my hair cut at so I could get a trim since I don't know a good place in Busan yet. Then I met Laura-Line for a great hike in Yeochun. Later that evening, we had dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in the world, Dubu Ma-eul (Tofu Village) & had a delicious meal & some Korean rice wine, dong-dong ju. After that, we met some other friends at Wa Bar, had a few drinks & then went to the singing room (norae-bang).

The next day, I spent with some of my dearest Korean lady friends, Jessica, Saerom, & Jaimae. These ladies & I spent a lot of last year together so it was great to see them again. I missed them so much. We had lunch together & then went to a coffee shop to relax & talk.

Although the weekend went by quickly, it was so great to be back in Yeosu & see my friends.
